Board of Adjustment (Construction Board of Appeals)
The board hears and decides appeals where it is alleged there is error on any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance or interpretation of the International Building Code and the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance. This board has the power to hear and act upon appeals from a denial of a variance request. The board’s decisions are final.

Community Development Corporation
The Community Development Corporation, often referred to as a 4B corporation for its enabling legislation, uses a half of a cent of the municipality’s sales tax to fund a defined array of public improvements including buildings, equipment, programs and parks, as well as the promotion and development of business enterprises.

Convention and Visitors Bureau-Visit Frisco Board
The board serves to enhance economic vitality of the area by advising the Frisco City Council and staff on the sales and marketing of Frisco to the convention, meeting, and leisure travel markets, using funding generated from local Hotel / Motel Occupancy Tax Refunds.

Downtown Advisory Board
The purpose of the Downtown Advisory Board is to enhance the economic vitality of the downtown area and to assist with determining the best use of city-owned buildings in downtown Frisco by advising the City Council and city staff on the plan and use of the buildings.

Economic Development Corporation
Oversees implementation of a coordinated development plan that is submitted to the City Council each year as a part of the FEDC annual budget. The plan includes short-term and long-term goals for the economic development of the city, proposed methods for the elimination of unemployment and underemployment, and enhancement of the tax base through the expansion and development of a sound industrial, manufacturing and retail base within the city.

Housing Authority Board
The Frisco Housing Authority Board is responsible for ownership, maintenance, operation and legal compliance of the existing inventory of federally funded low-rent public housing in Frisco, as well as other low and moderate income housing owned by the Frisco Housing Authority throughout Frisco. The board is also responsible for the development of new housing opportunities for low and moderate income families in Frisco. The mission of the board is to support and encourage housing opportunities for Frisco's workforce.

Parks and Recreation Board
The Parks and Recreation Board is responsible for the development and implementation of the planning vision for the Parks and Recreation system in Frisco. The Parks and Recreation Board works with department staff and the City Council to creatively explore methods and strategies to provide the best parks and recreation system available to the residents of Frisco.

Planning and Zoning Commission
The commission reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding: Proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, and the Comprehensive Plan as well as Zoning change requests. The commission has final authority regarding plats and site plans. Members of the commission also serve on the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the impact fee ordinance.

Public Art Board
The Public Art Board oversees the art selection process for the city’s Public Art Program. The board makes final recommendations to the City Council on all public art commissions, serves on ad hoc artist selection committees, and approves artist design proposals.

Social Services and Housing Board
The Social Services and Housing Fund was created in October, 2002, with the goal of creating programs to support affordable home-ownership and rental options for families that work in Frisco. The Social Services and Housing Board is responsible for approving loan requests from the fund, including 2 down-payment assistance programs.

Urban Forestry Board
The Urban Forestry Program is led by a board of volunteers. The board advises the City Council on the promotion, improvement and protection of the urban forest. The board's mission is to provide wise stewardship and leadership to ensure that we protect our existing trees and encourage proper selection, planting methods and maintenance of new trees, in order to continually enhance the quality of life in Frisco. The board pledges to increase community understanding of the value of our urban forest and to take responsibility for the education and publicity of those values. Members participate in a variety of educational initiatives in cooperation with local elementary schools, the Boys' and Girls' Clubs and other groups throughout the city.
